Announcement from Miri City Council

In line with the Sarawak Government directives as announced by the Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari this afternoon, Miri City Council wishes to announce the following:
1) Public places like Miri Handicraft Center, Taman Awam water features, public libraries etc will be closed for the next two weeks.
2) The organising of the Ramadan market will be put on hold depending situation review nearer Ramadan time.
3) All activities and events to be held in Miri City under the Miri City Events Calender will all be cancelled or postponed to a later date, including Miri City Day 15th Anniversary Celebration on May 29th.
4) The April's Meet the People session will be postponed to a later date.
5) The proposed study trip for the City Infrastructure Standing Committee and the Rating and Valuation Committee in April will be postponed to a later date.
6) The proposed community engagement trip to Long Lellang on March 30th will be postponed to a later date.
7) Public entering MCC Buildings and UTC Building will be registered with their name, IC number, handphone contact, and body temperature recorded. Hand sanitizer will be provided for them to sanitise their hands before entry and on exit.
8) Miri City Council will strictly follow the guidelines given by Sarawak Government to combat the COVID 19 problem. And encourage the Miri community to comply as well.
