MIRI: Miri City Council (MCC) will use the Malaysian Roads Records Information System (Marris) funds to repair roads that are seriously damaged, such as those with potholes.

MCC councillor Aries Leong said one of the roads that they have identified for repair is the stretch of Airport Road to Taman Delight.

“The area is in a very bad shape and a huge rubbish bin makes the condition even uglier. We (MCC) will make sure that the rubbish bin is taken out and have the potholes repaired,” he said when contacted on Tuesday.

He also said MCC had received complaints from the public on the bad condition of the stretch of Jalan Acorus to KS Garden housing area, especially during and after heavy rain.

“This unnamed road is one of the important roads at the housing area.

“It was badly damaged because of heavy lorries carrying construction loads to sites at the end of the road.

“We are closely monitoring the area and will include this road under the rural transformation project (RTP) for Piasau constituency,” Leong added.
